Agitated Limpet / Double Limpet Type Reactor

Agitated Limpet / Double Limpet Type Reactor

An Agitated Limpet Reactor or Double Limpet Type Reactor is a specialized chemical reactor designed for efficient heat transfer and mixing during chemical reactions. The reactor features a unique "limpet" coil structure, which is a helical or spiral coil welded to the outside of the reactor shell. This coil forms a jacket that can be filled with a heating or cooling medium, enabling precise temperature control during the reaction process. The reactor is typically equipped with an agitator or stirrer inside, which ensures proper mixing of reactants for optimal reaction rates. The Double Limpet Type Reactor has two such helical coils, one placed inside the other, providing enhanced heat exchange efficiency, making it ideal for processes where uniform temperature control is critical. These reactors are widely used in industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and petrochemicals, where efficient heat transfer and agitation are essential for maintaining reaction conditions and improving overall process performance.
